I am a fluid public transportation rider and require to travel with my backpack that carries my papers, take home work and maybe travel size accessories. I tried to enter into the bank and was halted through the metal detectors resisting me from entry. A voice over the microphone shouted "empty your pockets and go back through the metal detectors" then I was asked to do it twice more. After finally being released from the middle entry I was then drastically approached and asked to leave my backpack at the front desk because I know better and their bank doesn't allow backpacks. She asked me if I had an account I told her "I was interested untill being seized at the door, she then asked do I have proper ID, before I could respond she answered the phone and held her finger up. I just walked out because all the employees were looking at me in terror because I had a backpack. I understand living in caution because Detroit is a city where you have to be careful but if you're that fearful then you're just as scary as a criminal. I will be more considerate of my backpack when traveling however being treated as a threat because of my attire is uncomfortable to go through as a customer.
